10 Dance is a live-action adaptation of the BL manga of the same name by Satoh Inoue.
Two expert dancers, Shinya Sugiki (Ryoma Takeuchi) and Shinya Suzuki (Keita Machida), are trying to master each other’s dance styles for a special competition.
Sugiki specializes in standard ballroom dance, while Suzuki’s all about Latin American dance. These two styles never compete against each other, but the 10 Dance competition is the one exception that makes it possible.
I’m so excited to watch this! It’s been a minute since I was this excited for a BL coming out of Japan. But as we know, Japan has never let us down when it comes to BL. They deliver on all fronts, be it the casting, filming, or production. Thanks to the BL gods for blessing us with this one. 🙏
As of now, I don’t know what the film’s budget is, but from the look of things, I have high hopes. Also, the fact that it’s gonna premiere on Netflix is a plus. We haven’t had many BLs on such a big platform.
The movie is directed by Keishi Otomo who is best known for Rurouni Kenshin franchise, and I’m confident he’ll deliver in 10 Dance, hands down.
But also, since watching Keita Machida in Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!, I’m pretty sure he and Ryoma Takeuchi are gonna deliver. Just from the trailer alone, I’m obsessed. You can literally feel the tension and chemistry in those 2 minutes!
